This is a nice vintage candle holder that has been in my family for many years. It is known as a 'courting candle' and is a replica of what was once a tradition. The idea is that when a young lady was being 'courted', her suitor had a time limit on his visit. The courting candle would burn until it was time for him to go, and I'm sure her father was there to keep an eye on the flame.
This is a delightful piece of nostalgia. We have kept a beeswax candle in it and burned it on occasion so it has been used and appreciated.
Candle included! Please see pictures and email with any questions. The holder itself is almost seven inches tall. Thanks for looking!
