($3 each or 4 for $10). September through December is the best time to plant giant hyacinths outdoors for blooms in spring. Plant bulbs 4" to 6″ deep. Dig a hole and plant multiples (3 to 5) Hyacinths are considered a true bulb and therefore have a distinct pointed end which should be facing the upwards when planted. They can also be chilled and forced inside.
