Hummingbird Vine or Cypress vine has thin, thread-like leaves that give the plant a light, airy texture. It’s usually grown against a pole or on a trellis which it climbs by twining itself around the structure. They also look beautiful in hanging baskets. The star-shaped flowers bloom all summer & into fall. Hummingbirds & butterflies love to sip nectar from the flowers which is why the plant is often referred to as a hummingbird vine. You will receive 100 seeds and I always throw in several extra. The last photo shows a few seeds.
Cypress vines differ from Cardinal climbers which are also attractive to Humming birds with the foliage being thicker and less attractive than the Cypress vine and Cypress Vines reseed and come back each year and Cardinal climbers do not. They self seed and will come back each year and spread. You can harvest the seeds and plant them in other areas as well. These are all pictures of my hummingbird vines in various locations and the last photo is a pic of the seeds. The seeds were harvested by me in September and October of this year.
I mail the seeds out in a regular stamped envelope with no additional cost for shipping or you're welcome to come and pick them up. Live plants are available in late Spring and Summer and are pick up only.
