A manufacturing company in Lexington, NC is looking for a scheduler with experience generating price quotes, entering purchase orders for manufacturing or distribution companies and managing customer and vendor relationships, and scheduling. This fast-paced, high volume, multitasking position reports directly to the operating manager. Job duties may vary as needed.
Experienced level of clerical purchasing and receiving activities, Follow-up on purchase orders with established vendors by mail, FAX, telephone and personal contacts. Advise vendors of desired delivery dates, working from production schedules. Keep abreast of changes in production requirements and delivery promises and assist in coordinating item delivery from supplier to on-site user. Visit satellite warehouses as necessary. Check specific delivery information and availability of purchased materials or substitute items. Thorough knowledge of company's receiving, inventory, and purchasing procedures, computer system and purchase order process.
Based on forecasts, manages inventory levels across warehouse locations --Works with freight carriers and suppliers to expedite deliveries of product to meet fulfillment needs--Compiles data from sources such as contracts, purchase orders, invoices, requisitions, and accounting reports and writes, types, or enters information into computer to maintain inventory, purchasing, shipping, or other records --Compiles stock control records and information such as consumption rate, characteristics of items in storage, and current market conditions, to determine stock supply and need for replenishment. --Prepares requisitions, orders, or other documents for purchasing or requisitioning new or additional stock items.--Compares stock numbers, authorized substitutes, and other listed information with catalogs, manuals, parts lists, and similar references to verify accuracy of requisitions and shipping orders.--Counts and/or monitors cycle counts of material, equipment, product, or supplies in stock and posts totals in inventory records.--Compares inventories to office records or computes figures from records such as sales orders and purchase invoices to obtain current inventory.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
--Assist Shipping Supervisor & Traffic Coordinator during absences
--Perform Traffic Associate responsibilities when required
--Handwork: folding, taping, punch out labels, rubber band, etc.
--Work/fill in on the truck line & Express area as necessary
--Pull stock picks
--Process orders on the meters
--Process bill of ladings
--Schedule LTL pickups
--Put express work orders to stock after confirming counts and items produced match on the Express Line
--Process orders through L-Sealer and box pack according to work order specifications
--Check off expected shipment and daily express schedules
