Hey everybody - I'm looking to find some people to start playing with again. Open to covers, especially at first, and originals. Definitely hoping to play shows locally after everything is all ready. My most recent band stopped about a year ago, due to a combination of people moving, new jobs, and 2 of 4 members had another band that really got off the ground. We were definitely a laid back group, but we did take practices seriously enough to sound good. We did a variety of covers and genres, but I'm really open to trying almost anything (not really interested in country or metal, typically). My friend from that band (took care of keys or bass and vocals) is currently in Chapel Hill, but is hoping to come back occasionally and is moving back here within a year, so we might have more covered than starting from scratch.

A little about me - I'm 28, and I've been playing for around 16 years. I played in bands all throughout high school, college, and up to about a year ago here in Winston. I wouldn't classify myself (or anyone for that matter) as a strictly lead or rhythm guitarist, but I'm happy being a co-guitarist or the only guitarist in a band. Team player mentality, not really a "big ego". I really just love playing with a band. My most recent group covered anything from Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Modest Mouse, The Strokes, Red Hot Chili Peppers to The Killers and anything in between, as well as dipping our toes in funk and pop (I still have and know our long and comically varied list of covers). This is far from an all inclusive list, and my personal influences are equally as varied. Some of my older bands had done more modern stuff too (Blink 182, Foxy Shazam, Muse, Rage Against the Machine). Always happy to talk about old bands and personal influences if anyone is curious. I've got a few live videos and a Soundcloud for samples, but they're mostly dated and not terribly impressive.

I have necessary gear, a PA, and transportation, and may have a practice space once I move in mid June (somewhere else might be better, but it should work). Ideally, I'd like to get involved or start something with everybody in Winston. I'm open to trying out for/joining an existing band, or start something new. Feel free to get back to me with any questions at all (gear, other influences, whatever). Thanks for taking the time to check this out!
